(B) Antique Pair Berber Silver Fibula Perfume Holder Signed Morocco 1918 NR

Description

Antique Berber pair of fibulae FABULOUS matching pair stamped on the back - dated 1918 with makers mark as well. Cast in silver.
The design on the front is a traditional one - with a stylized triangle representing a fertile womb.
The perfume holders hanging on each side are beautifully hand incised and forged with the bottoms that open up with a hinge.  Cotton dipped in perfume is inserted into the two holders so that the wearer smells wonderful as she goes about her day/night.  The very bottoms of each perfume holder have 11 magic characters/letters incised in Berber further protecting and blessing the wearer.
Very rare pair of old jewelry whose traditional use is rapidly coming to an end.
