"Bamileke" feather headdress also known as a "Juju Hat" ,  30" in Diameter , If you have been looking for a juju hat that is really clean , full & fluffy .. in a rich black ,  look no longer .. I just received the best looking examples I have found in years of importing Juju hats... These hats were originally intended for use in a ceremonial dance costume in the grassland region of Cameroon ... they have long been collected by people in the west  for their rare beauty and vibrant colors ..The center of production of the hats is the small town of Baffosam and surrounding villages ..extended families  have worked together for generations , weaving the raffia , tying feathers to the wood sticks to create these amazing geometric works of art , today it has become a cottage industry . Many small colorful shops line the street of the central market where you can visually inspect and purchase hats and masks.. It is amazing to see the growing prosperity that is connected to the increasing popularity of these hats ..I first became interested in the Bamileke on a 2004 trip to Cameroon & West Africa and began selling these Headdresses in 2005 and have sold them on ebay every other year since then . .  (Shipping) - packing the hats for transport is key ..I have worked out a simple method of stabilizing the hats...
